Hay~Ley's Harmony

This long exposure photo was taken at Fairy Lake on Vancouver Island which is about 5 miles east of Port Renfrew using my Sony RX10 IV and an ND 9 stop filter.  When I stood at the side of the lake staring at this beautiful Douglas Fir tree which is also referred to as the "Bonsai" tree, it felt like I was in a fairy tale.  A natural bonsai Douglas Fir not just growing, but thriving on top of an old weathered Douglas Fir.  What a perfect metaphor for determination and strength, this tiny tree showing us that with impossible odds it finds a way to survive.  "Bonsai, in general, symbolize harmony, peace, order of thoughts, balance and all that is good in nature."  This photo is dedicated in memory of my daughter, Hayley.
